MEET THE TEAM

All my horses, are rescue horses and they all have a
forever loving home with me.

Maizey May
Meet Maizey, the 17-year-old Appaloosa mare, the epitome of grace and resilience. With a heart of gold, she's been my companion for 8 amazing years and holds a special place in my heart. Maizey introduced me to the wonderful world of classical equitation.

Despite her challenges, including insulin resistance and bone spavin in both hocks, Maizey remains a shining example of strength. I keep her joints moving through the art of classical in-hand work and the joy of happy hacking, especially her favorite pastime—splashing around in the river.

To manage her insulin resistance, I use holistic homeopathy and a carefully curated diet. She also receives my secret recipe porridge with added cinnamon which enhances insulin sensitivity. A generous dose of high chelated magnesium is also added and of course her expansive track system that ensures she gets plenty of movement without overindulging in grass.

Maizey, is my equine superstar and she is a testament to the power of love, care and a tailored approach to horse health and happiness.
Jazz
Meet Jazz, a stunning and sassy 17 year old Arabian sensation! For three incredible years, I've had the privilege of being her partner in transformation. Jazz, a former endurance star, arrived a bit world weary and skeptical of human companionship. So, I decided to give her the gift of time.

Her first year here was all about being a horse, embracing freedom and rediscovering herself. However, I soon realised that Jazz had a hormonal challenge. She could switch seasons faster than a lightning bolt when a new horse joined the scene and her intense seasons seemed to go on forever. This took a toll on her lumbar area, causing some tightness and a slight roach back.

We are on a journey of healing and discovery. Jazz and I have delved into the world of herbs to find solutions. She adores our classical in-hand work and remarkably, she has become an invaluable teacher to my wwoofers (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms).

Her hormonal puzzle is still being unraveled but Jazz's spirit shines brighter than ever. She is a testament to resilience and the magic of the equine human bond.

DJango
Meet the one and only Django, affectionately known as DJ, the 11 year old Arabian genius with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

My bond with DJ spans 7 incredible years, a journey that began after he endured a traumatic accident involving a rope halter. He had found himself entangled and twisted, resulting in a severe spinal and head injury. These challenges led to a persistent upper respiratory issue that affects his breathing.
DJ is my greatest teacher, an inspiration to never stop learning. I have delved into extensive research and explored various avenues to nurture his well-being. Among all the methods, craniosacral work emerged as a game changer, offering him the most relief.

DJ's cleverness knows no bounds and he adores the art of classical in-hand work which has been instrumental in supporting his spinal health. However, his persistent breathing issue remains a hurdle in our journey.
Despite the odds, DJ's spirit remains unbreakable, a testament to his resilience and our unbreakable bond. Together, we will continue working towards his wellness, one hoof print at a time.
Mr. Mack
Meet Mr Mack, a 9 year old Thoroughbred gelding, whose life has been a rollercoaster of heartache and hope.

I became his seventh owner in his mere 9 years on this planet and his history is veiled in shadows. His tale begins as a 5 year old stallion in deplorable condition, rescued from the brink of despair. After rehabilitation, he was sold on and from there he has had several homes.

I received him as a gift from the daughter of a local man known for making hard choices with horses. Initially selected for a heartbreaking fate, the daughter, facing her own health struggles, decided to defy the odds and keep him. Together, they became each other's pillars of strength, healing in their own unique ways.
As she regained her health and ventured into a new chapter in her life, she entrusted Mr Mack to me. Despite the scars of his past, this wise soul in a young body carries an enduring spirit. He faces a challenge, a rotated pelvis, but responds remarkably well to treatment. Through classical in-hand work, we are on a path to healing and it is a journey filled with triumph.

Mr Mack's story is a poignant reminder of the resilience of the equine spirit and the healing power of compassion. Together, we will continue to embrace the future, one hoof print at a time, drawing strength from the shadows of his past to light the path forward.
