Sport Performance Massage Therapy

Myofascial release (MFR) is a hands-on massage technique that targets the fascial system, which encases the muscles, through sustained pressure. MFR elongates the fascial tissue with slow, gentle pressure on the restriction or tissue barrier.

Equine Posture Release Therapy or EPRT

Equine Injury Repair and Rehabilitation refer to the process of addressing and recovering from injuries or health issues in horses. It involves a comprehensive approach to heal and rehabilitate horses that have suffered from various injuries, illnesses or physical conditions. The primary goal of equine injury repair and rehabilitation is to help the horse recover its physical health, functionality and overall well being. This enables the horse to return to its previous level of activity, whether that is as a riding or working horse, a competitive athlete, or for general well being as a companion animal.
I have carefully crafted my own program for correcting posture and aiding in injury healing for these horses. This is EPRT, a physiotherapeutic therapy involving working a horse in hand with classical exercises and pole work is a specialised approach that aims to enhance a horse's physical condition, balance and overall health. It emphasises precise, controlled movements guided by a handler from the ground. The therapy draws from classical equitation principles to promote suppleness, balance and strength in the horse. Additionally, incorporating pole work exercises aids in improving coordination, proprioception and muscle tone. This approach is valuable for rehabilitating injured horses, enhancing fitness and optimising performance while fostering a harmonious partnership between horse and handler.
EVERY DISCIPLINE BENEFITS FROM
SPORT THERAPY.

EQUINE SPORT THERAPY
Every horse, whether engaged in a specific competitive discipline or simply enjoying leisurely trail riding, should be regarded as an athlete. Regular sport therapy sessions are essential. Sport therapy offers numerous advantages, including improved circulation, providing muscles and fascia with vital nutrients, oxygen and optimal blood flow.

PRE COMPETITION
Sport therapy is instrumental in preventing injuries to the musculoskeletal system by maintaining suppleness in the fascia and soft tissues, averting tightness, adhesions and ensuring proper hydration. Prevention is the key to keeping your horse injury free and ensuring your horse can train and compete to his/her optimum.

POST COMPETITION
Sport therapy post competition sessions aid in flushing lactic acid buildup from the muscles, which accumulates after strenuous physical activity.
Additionally, this allows the therapist to identify any soft tissue tightness or abnormalities that can be addressed proactively.

Sport therapy encompasses a range of techniques, including myofascial release, passive limb stretching, range of motion exercises, sport massage and acupressure. Treating your horse as a bona fide athlete means integrating sport therapy into your training regimen.
